There are two types of service available:
- Satellite – Available throughout the region from Xplornet.
- Terrestrial – Delivered via DSL, wireless or cable.*
*Terrestrial service includes the following types of high-speed Internet access:
- DSL Internet Access
DSL stands for digital subscriber line. It is a high speed, digital, Internet connection sent over existing copper telephone lines to your home, using a frequency that does not interrupt voice conversations. - Cable Internet Access
Cable Internet is a high speed, digital, Internet connection sent over existing cable lines to your home. - Wireless Internet Access
Wireless Internet access is a form of high speed Internet that uses radio frequency to transmit a broadband Internet signal from a Wireless Tower. This signal is picked up by a device which is mounted on the outside wall, or roof, of a dwelling, and the access system then transmits the signal to the network inside.
