We are extremely pleased that the Provincial and Federal governments have announced their commitment to fund the EORN mobile/cell gap project.
EORN is presently in the midst of negotiating the contribution agreement with the Province and has received a letter from the Honourable Laurie Scott the Minister of Infrastructure in this regard.
The EORN team, in partnership with Peterborough County procurement has commenced the procurement process for the project.

Mobile broadband critical to regional growth
The Government of Canada in investing in rural broadband infrastructure, which is critical for communities to engage in the growing digital economy, create jobs and enjoy economic growth.
Today, the Government of Canada announced that it will provide the Eastern Ontario Regional Network (EORN) with $71 million for its share of funding to help fill gaps in mobile broadband coverage that are standing in the way of the region’s economic development.

The Eastern Ontario Regional Network (EORN) is pleased that all Members of Parliament representing the region, and from across party lines, have signed strong letters of support to the federal government to help fund proposed cell service improvements for the region.
